How are we green?
Active has purchased 160 acres of lightly forested Ontario land which was scheduled to be cleared and transformed into farm land. We are currently implimenting an extensive reforestation effort to help ensure our continued CO2 neutrality, and in accordance with (LULUCF) we have:
-stopped deforestation
-are proceeding with reforestation
-ensuring afforestation
We are also proceeding with a complete overhaul of our office, distribution, and printing policies:
-paperless banking(incld. ATM usage, e-statements, e-filing taxes)
-no vehicle idling(including all delivery, supervisor's, warehouse, office personel vehicles)
-"Energy Star" rated office equipement
-high-efficiency lighting
-recycling of all office materials(plastic, paper, and metals)
-e-communication (PDFs, emails, Office docs)
-ensuring all electrical devices are powered down and all "sleep" or "hibernate" functions are active when not in use.
Active is also currently scheduling a full "energy audit" to ensure our continued and future success in our green efforts.
